Description
With just 18 years under their belt, Bremont has successfully made some stunning watches in a short time including their foundational Martin-Baker series, the MBI and MBII. Showing deep ties to aviation heritage, the MBII is made in collaboration with British ejection-seat manufacturer, Martin-Baker. This is evidenced on the dial via the “Anti-Shock” denotation. In an emergency situation in which the pilot is forced to eject, escaping with one’s life comes at a cost. Most everything mechanical involved – from the ejection seat, to the aircraft, and even to the pilot’s watch – would likely be destroyed. It was this type of scenario that inspired Bremont to design a watch that could withstand such extreme g-forces and thus the MB series was born. With a clean, easy to read white dial and neat hands, the MBII/WH is a no-nonsense tool watch. Knurled textures on the side provide just enough accent to set this watch apart from its minimalist cousins while the compressor knob at 2 o’clock turns the inner chapter ring with a satisfying click. Overall, this watch is not just impervious to shock but is timeless and functional to boot!
