Today’s timepiece is an Art Deco throwback sure to appeal to anyone looking for a watch that balances new, old, subtle, and bold.
Franck Muller watches need little by way of introduction. With their tonneau cases and oversized numerals, these in-your-face pieces are all about making a statement. That’s why today’s watch is so intriguing. Within this lineage of daring designs, the Casablanca is almost diminutive with its manageable shape, muted pastel dial, and Arabic numerals whose shade and outline nearly blend together with the rest of the watch. The alpha shaped hands are almost plain in appearance and their blued outline provide the perfect complement to the uncluttered salmon colored dial. A push-pull crown at the 3 o’clock position on the highly polished stainless case controls the automatic movement and the elegantly sweeping second hand. The Cintrée Curvex case, measuring 43mm tall by 31mm wide, is reasonable for most wrists. Finally, the original brown calfskin leather strap is straightforward with a simple pin buckle.
This piece is in good pre-owned condition with normal wear on the leather band and a hairline scratch on the crystal near the “7”.
