In the early 1980’s Carlo Crocco created the first Hublot wristwatch, which featured a solid gold case and natural rubber strap. This marked the first time in watch history that a precious underground material was matched with an above ground natural substance. In recent years, Hublot wristwatches have gotten much much more visually aggressive, with their large, bulky cases and use of various high tech materials. However, this MDM Chronograph – produced in the early 2000’s – remains true to Crocco’s original design vision. In fact, it has the same aesthetic profile as Crocco’s first ever creation, sporting an 18kt yellow gold case that is 40 mm in diameter and a slim 12 mm thick. It is powered by the tried-and-true ETA 2894-A2 automatic chronograph movement, and has 30 meters of water resistance.
This particular example of the MDM Chronograph reference 1810.3 is in very good pre-owned condition, with surface scratches on the case and buckle.
