Description
The Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control, first released in 1992, is particularly noteworthy because it is the first watch to go through JLC’s rigorous “1000 Hours Control” test program. As the most painstaking and comprehensive quality control procedure of its kind, the program includes no less than 1000 hours of stringent measures that test resistance to impact, temperature change, water resistance, and movement accuracy in six different positions.
In addition to the Master Control’s functional capability, it is an aesthetically beautiful piece. It sports a clean, 37 mm stainless steel case that is mirror-polished on all sides, and measures a svelte 9 mm thick. The dial is legible, even in the dark, with circular Super-Luminova pips at the edge of the hour markers, as well as along the handset. The watch is powered by JLC’s in-house caliber JLC 889/2 automatic movement, which has a power reserve of 42 hours and a quickset date mechanism. The piece comes with its original stainless steel bracelet, which will fit wrists up to 7 1/4″ in diameter. It is in excellent pre-owned condition, with minimal surface scratches on its case and bracelet.
