Founded in 1976, Raymond Weil came to fruition during the height of the “Quartz Crisis.” During this period, traditional Swiss watchmaking companies were struggling to survive thanks to newer, cheaper battery-powered watches taking up a large part of the market share. Raymond Weil seized this opportunity, and introduced what he called the “entry-level luxury timepiece.” His watches were quartz (battery) powered, yet employed a high-end, beautiful aesthetic that was inspired by classical Swiss watches of decades past. Today, Raymond Weil remains one of the last few independent, family-owned Swiss watchmaking firms.
This example of the Raymond Weil Tango, with its simple yet beautiful looks, reliable Swiss quartz movement, and approachable price tag, is exemplary of the Weil’s “entry-level luxury” approach. It features 39 mm medical-grade stainless steel case, a radiant blue dial with polished silver hands and applied indices, and is water resistant to 100 meters.
A great opportunity to own a high-quality, Swiss-made watch at an attractive price, this Raymond Weil tango is in pristine pre-owned condition and is sold as a complete set with its original box and papers.
