There are few watches, if any, that are as iconic as the Rolex Submariner. First introduced in 1954, the Sub was one of the first dive watches ever produced, and quickly went on to gain traction as a sports watch with rugged capability, yet sophisticated charm. Thus, it gained widespread appeal among both divers and businessmen, alike. Hell, even James Bond wore one. Case in point!
As a 5-digit Rolex sports reference produced in the 1990’s, the 16610 piece retains a more slim and graceful profile than the bigger, chunkier modern-day Submariners. However, it has the same core technical specifications as a modern day Sub, with a sapphire crystal, 300 meters of water resistance, and a COSC-certified automatic movement.
This particular example is from the “E” serial range, produced in the year 1990. It is in excellent pre-owned condition, with light surface wear on its case and bracelet. The markers and hands have aged to an even shade of eggshell white. Its bracelet shows minimal stretch and will fit wrists up to 7 1/4” in diameter.
