Description
There are few watches, if any, that are as iconic as the Rolex Submariner. First introduced in 1954, the Sub was one of the first dive watches ever produced, and quickly went on to gain traction as a sports watch with rugged capability, yet sophisticated charm. Thus, it gained widespread appeal among both divers and businessmen, alike. Hell, even James Bond wore one. Case in point!
The Sub reference 16613, with its 18kt yellow gold and steel housing and radiant blue accents, has come to be known by collectors as the “Bluesy.” As a 5-digit Rolex sports reference produced in the 1990’s, this piece retains a more slim and graceful profile than the bigger, chunkier modern-day Submariners. However, it has the same core technical specifications as a modern day Sub, with a sapphire crystal, 300 meters of water resistance, and a Calibre 3135 COSC-certified automatic movement.
This particular example, an ‘A’ serial produced in 1998, is in excellent pre-owned condition, with slight surface scratches throughout. Its bracelet will fit wrists up to 7 1/2” in diameter.
