Founded in 1755, Vacheron Constantin is one of the earliest watchmaking companies still around today. Over the years, the brand has continued to innovate both technically and stylistically, while also being mindful of its roots. The Les Historiques Toledo is indicative of this approach, paying homage to the Toledo line originally produced by Vacheron in the 1950’s.
The Historiques Toledo, fashioned out of 18kt white gold, features the same aesthetic profile as those original mid-century models, yet boasts a larger case size (43 mm x 36.4 mm) and thinner profile (8.9 mm). Its elegantly curved case is complemented by a radiant blue dial patterned in a beautiful guilloche that shows off different shades of blue depending on its surroundings. The hands have a polished appearance and beveled sides, helping them to catch the light and increase legibility. Powering the Toledo an in-house automatic movement featuring a 22 karat gold rotor and a power reserve of approximately 40 hours.
The Historiques Toledo is a modern rarity was produced in extremely small numbers. It is difficult to find examples of the watch for sale, let alone examples in such excellent shape. This example is close to pristine, with very slight surface scratches evident on its case and bracelet. Its bracelet is fitted with all links and will fit wrists up to 7 1/2” in circumference.
