Description
The first thing you’ll notice about the Defy El Primero 21 is the skeletonized dial. One can’t help but stare into the depths of this watch, examining each of the 293 components in the famous El Primero Chronograph movement. The 9004 caliber movement beats at 5 Hz with a 50 hour power reserve, shown by the reserve indicator at the noon position. On the dial, gray and blue rimmed subdials track 60 seconds and 30 minutes, respectively using the expertly crafted rectangular pushers at the side of the case. Hidden at the 9 o’clock position is a three-armed small seconds counter. An examination of this watch reveals one detail after another.
The 44mm brushed titanium case sits lightly on the wrist and is accented by a premium feeling rubber strap. From behind, the exhibition caseback shows off Zenith’s star movement and the titanium buckle finishes the piece with its clean, adjustable design.
