Description
In February 2021, Grand Seiko announced the premiere of the “Seasons” GMT collection of watches to mark Seiko’s 140th anniversary. Consisting of four distinct dial designs and two different movements, the collection shows off Grand Seiko’s ability to incorporate nature’s beauty in technologically profound timepieces. With steel cases, bracelets, exhibition casebacks, and GMT functionality, the Seasons collection is a continuation of the Iwate-based watchmaker’s pursuit of crafting perfect watches.
Representing the spring months, the Shunbun shows off a conspicuous green dial representing the buds and blossoms of foliage emerging from winter’s cold. A brushed, wood-colored GMT hand extends this foliage-esque metaphor spinning elegantly thanks to the Hi-Beat movement inside the 39.5mm case. With 72 hours of power reserve and 30m of water resistance, the SBGJ251 balances elegance and robustness.
