Technical Services Manager
Description:
Feldmar Watch Company is looking for a Technical Services Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for the management and development of the watchmaking department at Feldmar Watch Company. This includes the harmonization of the services for all watches according to defined targets, standards, policies and procedures.
We service and repair numerous brands to brand-specific standards, and pride ourselves on quality, precision, and reliable turnaround for our customers.
This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily organization and management of the watchmaking department
- Oversee the technical training department for all programs (internal and external)
- Ensure qualitative and quantitative targets are consistently met; improve productivity and quality through planning, delegation, and control of work
- Develop the workshop by coaching co-workers and encouraging individual growth; apply lean structures and training to maximize efficiency; evaluate watchmakers’ work to improve overall service quality and keep comeback repairs to a minimum
- Administer, analyze, and report on department performance (volume, quality, lead times, and cost); monitor output and repair-status accuracy daily; forecast short- and mid-term capacity needs and planning
- Develop long-term and mid-term strategies to improve department efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with Feldmar Watch Company standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines — including health & safety standards — and maintain/update them as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Experience managing a watchmaking workshop department
- Excellent knowledge of and hands-on experience with mechanical watches, including chronographs and other complications
- High degree of organization and follow-through
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience applying new methodologies or process-improvement frameworks in a workshop or production setting
- Prior experience building or running technical training programs

Watchmaker/Watch Technician
Description:
Feldmar Watch Company is looking for a skilled Watchmaker/Watch Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for quality repairs and service across a range of timepieces including mechanical and quartz movements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, reliable, and can adapt quickly across brands and complications while maintaining an efficient workflow.
We service and repair numerous brands to brand-specific standards, and pride ourselves on quality, precision, and reliable turnaround for our customers.
Full-time or part-time options are available. Based in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Appropriately estimate the needs of each timepiece submitted for service
- Assemble all case components; check and ensure water resistance of cases
- Perform full service on movements: dismantling, replacement/repair of broken parts, cleaning, reassembly, rate check, and adjustment
- Analyze each repair and determine the proper methodology
- Use or develop appropriate tools and processes to resolve issues that arise during repair
- Respond quickly to urgent needs, including emergency repairs under time pressure
- Confirm all required services are complete and watches are ready for return to the customer
- Coordinate with the team to keep operations running smoothly (maintain equipment/tools, order consumables)
- Keep your personal workspace and the general workshop clean and organized
Required Qualifications:
- Experience servicing mechanical movements including
- Luxury brands such as Rolex, Omega, Breitling, and Cartier
- Modern complications (e.g., chronographs, GMT)
- Commonly used calibers (e.g., ETA, Sellita, Soprod)
- Vintage watches
- Ability to perform maintenance/full overhauls and general part replacement across a broad range of jobs
- Team player with strong communication skills and a drive for excellence
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to stay composed in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain a quick, efficient workflow, repairing numerous watches per day across a mix of complex and standard jobs
- Ability to work independently, including determining when and how to replace components during repair
Preferred Skills:
- 3+ years of professional watchmaking experience
- Strong ability to perform full service and repair on quartz movements
- CW21 Certification (or comparable proof of expertise)
- Comfortable using Swiss standard equipment such as Witschi timing and water-resistance testing equipment
