Technical Services Manager
Description:
The fast-paced team at Feldmar Watch Company, Inc. is looking for a Technical Services Manager. This position is responsible for the management and development of the watchmaking department at Feldmar Watch Company, Inc. This includes the harmonization of the services for all watches according to defined targets, standards, policies and procedures. In addition this position will provide technical support to our customer service administration and other departments.
Responsibilities:
- Daily organization and management of the watchmaking department
- Oversees the technical training department for all programs (internal and external)
- Ensure that qualitative and quantitative targets are constantly met. Improve productivity and quality. Planning, delegation and control of work
- Develop the workshop by coaching co-workers and encourage individual development. Apply lean structures and training to maximize efficiency of employees. Evaluate the work of the watchmakers to improve the overall quality of the services provided and keep comeback services to an absolute minimum
- Administration, analysis & reporting about the performance of the department (i.e. volume, quality, lead times & cost). Daily monitoring of output, correctness of all repair statuses, and forecast short and mid-term required capacity and planning
- Develop long term and mid-term strategy and development plans to further improve efficiency and effectiveness of the department
- Ensure compliance to Feldmar Watch Company, Inc. standards, policies, procedures and guidelines and the maintenance/upkeep of them including health & safety standards
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of and experience with mechanical watches (including chronograph and other complications)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing a workshop department of a similar size
- High degree of organization and follow-through
- High attention to detail
- Good communication skills

Watchmaker/Watch Technician
Description:
The team at Feldmar Watch Company, Inc. is looking for a Watchmaker/Watch Technician. This position is responsible for the quality repairs and services for numerous brands and brand standards. Applicant should be able to adapt his/her skills to work on a variety of watches including mechanical, automatic & quartz movements; chronographs are a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Appropriately estimate needs of each timepiece shown
- Assemble all case components, check and ensure waterproofness of cases
- Full service on movements, movement dismantling, replacement/fixing of broken parts, cleaning, reassembling, rate check and adjustments
- Analyze and make decisions to define proper methodology to repair movements
- Use or develop adequate tools or processes to correct issues that can arise during the repair process
- Respond to needs quickly, at times performing emergency repairs under pressure
- Ensure all required services for the customer have been carried out and watches are ready to
- Work in coordination with the rest of the team to ensure smooth operations (maintain equipment & tools, order consumables)
- Maintain a clean and efficient space in personal work area and in general workshop
Requirements:
- Must maintain a quick & efficient workflow, repairing numerous watches per day, mixing complex and standard work tasks
- Must be an independent worker, using the materials provided and the ability to determine, when necessary, when and how to replace components during the repair process
- Must be able to use Swiss standard equipment such as Witschi timing and water resistance equipment, to properly control job
- Team player, good communication skills, drive for excellence, customer service focus, ability to cope under pressure in a busy & fast paced environment, enthusiastic & self-motivated
- Salary commensurate with experience
