Chopard was founded by Louis Ulysee Chopard in Switzerland in 1860, with the goal to create innovative designs, but more than that, true works of art. His chronometers and pocket watches soon found favor in high society, including the court of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. In the more than 160 years since then, Chopard has continued that tradition of creating classic, elegant, refined and altogether exquisite timepieces. Chopard is a company of passionate and experienced artisans skilled in more than 50 disciplines. This team has been purposefully created to cultivate limitless creativity and technological advancement.
Chopard is committed to sustainable luxury through responsible sourcing up and down their supply chain, with particular attention paid to environmental and social impacts. This manifests in several ways. Since July of 2018, Chopard has been the first watchmaker to use 100% Ethical Gold for the production of all its watches. They also follow the principles of the Kimberley Process with the goal to completely eliminate conflict diamonds from the market.
