A quest for excellence more than 165 years in the making.
The story of Tissot begins in the small mountain village of Le Locle, Switzerland, in 1853. There, Charles-Felicien Tissot, a gold case-fitter, and his son Charles-Emile, a watchmaker, joined forces to form the Charles-Felicien Tissot & Son assembly shop. The fine quality of their gold pendant and pocket watches was soon recognized, earning accolades at national and international exhibitions, and at chronometry competitions. In 1907 Tissot’s first factory was built in Le Locle, helping to introduce the watch industry that is now synonymous with the area. Tissot’s current headquarters is still situated there.
Beginning in the 1910s, Tissot began to sell wristwatches for women, and eventually for men as well. They reached a watershed moment in 1917 when they began producing their own movements, allowing them to manufacture the high-quality watches they were known for at affordable prices.
Today, Tissot lives on the cutting edge of watchmaking and is well known for ultra-feminine and sporty models—both with increasingly advanced features. The Tissot slogan, “Innovators by Tradition,” is proved over and over with each new model. Discover Tissot at Feldmar Watch Company.
