Description
This IWC Mark XVIII “Tribute to Mark XI” is the traditional flieger, simplified. The flieger watch was initially designed during World War II for the German Luftwaffe as a watch that was easily legible and robust for use in high stress air combat. The largest difference between this and a flieger is the hands. A quintessential flieger includes diamond shaped hands while this has stick hands. The numerals on the “Tribute to Mark XI” are also bolder. This is a call back to IWC Mark XI that contains these same features and was built as a post-war tool watch. The watch is cased in stainless steel and is set on a canvas strap.
