Description
Founded in 1755, Vacheron Constantin is one of the earliest watchmaking companies still around today. In their more than 250 year history, Vacheron has always been committed to precision, meticulous craftsmanship, and elegant, classical design. Over the years, the brand has continued to innovate both technically and stylistically, while also being mindful of its roots. The Les Historiques 1912 is indicative of this approach, paying homage to the tonneau-shaped watches originally produced by Vacheron beginning in 1912.
Launched in 1997 as a limited edition of 1912 pieces, the Les Historiques 1912 features an 18kt rose gold case that measures 32 x 41 mm in diameter. The piece features extended “mobile” lugs, which help the watch conform to the wrist while also serving as an interesting design cue. The dial is marked by a finely-grained off-white surface and “exploding” numerals, giving the watch a whimsical yet elegant aesthetic. Under the hood is VC’s manually wound caliber 1132 movement, which features a power reserve of 45 hours.
This example of the Vacheron Constantin Les Historiques 1912 is in excellent pre-owned condition, with minimal wear throughout. It comes with its original black lizard strap and matching rose gold Vacheron tang buckle.
