For its part, the Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate model has been around for a while but in April 2020, the Swiss house of Blancpain introduced a new colorway edition in a special shade of deepest blue. True to Blancpain’s straightforward design language where less is more, the Villeret Ultraplate Blue is unadorned except for a simple three-hand indication and a date window at 3 o’clock. Turn it over, and through the transparent caseback, the Caliber 1151 movement is visible including the wave-patterned rotor that helps drive the incredible 100-hour power reserve. At 40mm, the Blancpain Villeret sits comfortably on most wrists and with a matching stitched blue alligator leather strap, completes a dressy look.
