Description
The Bremont Jaguar MK1, as its name indicates, is inspired by the iconic Jaguar E-Type, a sports car that Enzo Ferrari himself referred to as “the most beautiful car ever made.” Working with Jaguar’s legendary designer, Ian Callum, Bremont set out to create a watch that would pay tribute to the E-Type through both aesthetically and mechanically. Bremont utilized their rugged 43 mm “TripTick” case, yet dressed it up a bit by giving the top and back a mirror polish, echoing the shiny chrome bumpers of the E-Type. The dial features a vintage Jaguar logo and reads much like a tachometer, drawing inspiration from the instrumentation dials of the E-Type. Even the crown features ridges that are reminiscent of tire tread.
Under the hood is Bremont’s BWC/01 – a chronometer certified automatic movement that can be viewed through the MK1’s sapphire caseback. It is beautifully finished, and its rotor fittingly echoes the look of an E-Type steering wheel (Jaguar logo and all!).
With all its details and capable powertrain, the Jaguar MK1 does an excellent job of paying tribute to the E-Type in a respectable and tasteful way. This example of the MK1 has had one previous owner, and is in excellent condition throughout. It comes as a complete set with its original box and papers.
