Description
The Chopard Happy Sport is a mystifying watch unlike any other. The floating diamonds in the Happy Sport’s dial were first imagined in 1976 when Ronald Kurowski, the brand’s in-house designer was inspired by sunlight’s reflection off of a waterfall in the Black Forest. The original watch featuring these “happy diamonds” had a small central dial with diamonds floating against a separate black dial behind. In 1993, Caroline Scheufele, the company’s president reimagined the idea with the floating diamonds sandwiched between two sapphire crystals so that they appeared to be floating in front of the dial.
This Happy Sport is featured in a 18k yellow gold case with a gold 4-link bead bracelet. There are five blue cabochons located on all 4 lugs and in the crown. Seven Happy diamonds float in front of the white dial with Roman numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock.
