It’s here! The white-dialed Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch was first teased by brand-ambassador, Daniel Craig, at the opening of the Planet Omega exhibition in NYC in November 2023. Since that night when the iconic case of the “Speedy” peeked out from under his cuff with what looked like a white dial, fans have speculated that a new version of the Moonwatch was on the way. Sure enough, the official launch of the famous extraplanetary watch arrives in March 2024 with a bold, white lacquer dial. Identical to the current black-dialed classics, the white-dialed Speedys come with Omega’s popular “sapphire-sandwich” arrangement, providing visibility of both the crisp dial, and the gorgeous Co-Axial Caliber 3861 manual-wind movement. Inspired by spacesuits worn by American astronauts for generations, the white affair is accented with red “Speedmaster” text and a red-tipped seconds hand that helpfully stops (hacks) when the crown is pulled out, making exact time-setting possible. Familiar to collectors, the white-dial version also features the “dot over 90” marking found on vintage references printed on the aluminum tachymeter bezel insert. Also available on Omega’s five-link stainless steel bracelet or black leather racing strap, this version comes on black fitted rubber.
