Description
Few brands brought the heat at Watches & Wonders 2021 like Tudor. Leading up to the annual event – normally held in Geneva but hosted online for the first time – the watch world speculated endlessly what Tudor would announce at their home-town event. While prognosticators were darn close in predicting a green Black Bay, few foresaw a revamp of Tudor’s Chronograph lineup.
Shifting from a silver bezel to an all-black affair and trimming the case thickness down to 14.4mm makes this a watch that pairs well with just about anything. In the buzz around this watch, the word “Daytona” was mentioned a time or two thanks to the Panda dial that is so notable. And with availability on stainless steel bracelet, proprietary black strap, or black leather (with removable bund), the combinations are endless. And did we mention Tudor simultaneously released a reverse panda version as well? With an all-black motif save for the chronograph subdials, the “evil panda” from Tudor is sure to become a classic.
As usual, Tudor has pressed forward on bringing luxury timepieces to market at an affordable price. Starting at $4,900, the Black Bay Chronograph 41 compromises on nothing with a COSC-certified in-house movement and 70 hours of power reserve. Pair that with 200m of water resistance and a sapphire crystal and this watch is an adventure-ready piece that will remain an icon for decades.
