Famed for its legendary 1969 El Primero caliber, enabling short-time measurements accurate to the nearest 1/10th of a second, Zenith has since developed over 600 movement variations. Today, Zenith offers new and fascinating vistas in time measurement including 1/100th of a second timing.
Georges Favre-Jacot, the founder of Zenith, revolutionized watch production in 1865 when he united all the watchmaking professions under one roof, thereby inventing the very concept of a Manufacture. He chose the name Zenith, the highest point reached by a heavenly body in the sky, to symbolize the heights of excellence to which the brand has aspired to ever since.
