Collection Spotlight: Baume & Mercier Clifton Club Indian® Watches

We are proud to showcase our Brand of the Month, Baume & Mercier, and their striking selection of Clifton Club Indian timepieces.

The Clifton Club collection has quickly become known for its rugged yet stylish sports watches. In partnership with America’s first motorcycle company, Indian Motorcycle, Baume & Mercier pays tribute to American motorsports with three unique timepieces within the Clifton Club collection.

Indian® Burt Munro Tribute

Baume & Mercier Indian Burt Munro Tribute

Baume & Mercier’s Indian® Burt Munro Tribute honors a legendary motorcyclist who set an under 1000cc record speed at 68 years old after spending decades modifying his bike himself.  The timepiece features a yellow number 35, Burt Munro’s lucky number, and a second hand shaped in the Indian “I.” Limited to 1967 pieces, remembering the year that Munro set his iconic record, this 44mm self-winding chronograph is the perfect way to pay homage to a man who is a central part of not only Indian’s culture but the history of motorsports as a whole.

Indian® Legend Tribute Chief®

Baume & Mercier Indian Legend Tribute Chief

Named after a popular Indian motorcycle, the 44mm self-winding Indian Legend Tribute Chief® timepiece features a stainless steel bracelet and a caseback engraved with the Indian Motorcycle logo. A subtle nod to Indian’s history and the year they were founded, on the 19th of each month, the date display reads “1901” instead of 19. A true limited edition, only 1901 of these pieces were released. This bold timepiece truly embodies the spirit of Indian Motorcycle.

Indian® Legend Tribute Scout®

Baume & Mercier Indian Legend Tribute Scout

Featuring a leather strap in the color of the Scout’s seat, one of the most visionary bikes in the world, Baume & Mercier’s Indian® Legend Tribute Scout® is a 1901-piece limited edition release. The timepiece boasts similar design characteristics as the Indian® Legend Tribute Chief® such as the 1901 date display on the 19th day of each month and the engraved caseback. The open-worked slate and black dial is racing-inspired and gives the watch its unique look.

About The Author: Scott Meller

author

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Scott joined Feldmar Watch Company, Inc. under the tutelage of his father, Sol. As a fourth generation family member, Scott’s forward-thinking business acumen has placed Feldmar on the cutting edge of the luxury timepiece market. Scott’s favorite part about working at Feldmar is being a part of his family’s multi-generational business and having worked alongside his father. His accomplishments are many, including the expansion and remodel of the Feldmar flagship store, as well as a second location inside The Beverly Hilton.

Since attending Santa Monica College, Scott has become an expert in the technical aspects of the timepieces sold at Feldmar. Each year, he travels to Switzerland—the watchmaking capital of the world—to attend the Baselword Watch & Jewelry Fair and build upon his extensive knowledge of this quickly-evolving industry.

Scott is very proud of the way Feldmar customers are put first: “We regularly go out of our way to meet the needs of our clients. A client once purchased a rather significant watch as a birthday gift for his brother who lived in New York. Our client asked how we were going to deliver the gift and we responded with the typical answer, we would ship it by FedEx. After we answered his question, we could tell that he wanted a more personalized experience for the delivery and offered to have it hand-delivered by one of our associates. He lit up at the thought, and so off went one of our associates to New York City for the day to hand-deliver the gift.”
