Hot List: August 2, 2024
While the world was watching the 200 meter dash in Paris (we’re assuming that’s a thing) we at Feldmar Watch Company scored our very own gold medal – welcome to the 200th edition of the Hot List! Since October 2020, we’ve been churning out weekly digests of the best watches in the store. It’s been a blast so far, and we can’t wait for the next milestone! Thanks for sticking with us 👏

Over the years, the Superocean has undergone many changes. In June, Breitling came out with bold new versions of the Superocean Automatic with vibrant, rainbow hues that excite! A Hot List standby since the beginning, we’ve always been proud of our collection of Manero watches at Feldmar 🤓 With bicompax design and understated class, these are truly timeless timepieces that can go the distance.
OMEGA SPEEDMASTER MOONWATCH CHRONOGRAPH
Is there a watch in the store more iconic than the Speedmaster? In all its forms, this is the watch that makes our phones ring off the hook, especially when a new version drops! Picking a favorite version of the Moonwatch is a bit like picking a favorite child, but in this case, the “Gray Side of the Moon” has a special place in our hearts. But shhh… don’t tell the others, lest they get jealous 🤫

A true American brand, we’ve enjoyed watching Shinola’s offerings develop over the years 🗽 The original Mackinac, with its bright yellow dial, was an unmissable piece while its latest version tones things down a bit. It’s performance and design evolved!
CHRONOSWISS STRIKE TWO GOLDEN GEAR
When we first started the Hot List, Chronoswiss was a dream brand for Feldmar! Added to the showroom in 2023, we’ve been amazed to see these watches up close and look forward to sharing them with you! Seeing the delicate design and powerful performance of these watches up close is a treat, and the Strike Two is no exception! 🎳

If there’s one collection from the past few years that’s proved to have serious staying power, it’s Omega’s Summer Blue watches 🌊 Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster, the references that constitute the Summer Blue line are each more impressive than the last. Four years ago, King Seiko was a distant (albeit revered) memory for watch collectors. Relaunched in July 2021, we proudly placed the first King Seiko in over 30 years right at the very top of that week’s Hot List 👑 In 2024, the lineup continues to expand with exciting watches in new sizes and styles… like this one!

When it comes to Breitling watches, details rule. Over the years, we’ve seen several collab limited editions, and each one has something that makes it special. For the Triumph Edition Chronomat, we love the “For The Ride” motto hidden beneath the crystal. Can you spot it? 🏍

Of all the brands in the store, Oris is possibly the one that most consistently surprises! Whether it’s a limited edition helping protect oysters in New York or a surprise diver chronograph like this one, we’re always excited to feature Oris timepieces 🦪

One of the best things about the Hot List is highlighting watches that sometimes fly under the radar 🛩 As a watch retailer, we can’t help but get excited when something different comes along, and the Alpiner Extreme Quartz in 34mm certainly fits the bill! From the travel-friendly size to the patterned dial and reliable quartz movement, this one is fun, fun, fun!
TAG HEUER MONACO CHRONOGRAPH
Going back to the early days of the biz, Felmdar and TAG Heuer have had a special relationship. Serving as the West Coast service center for many years, the old-heads at Feldmar even have personal stories of watchmaking legend and brand founder, Jack Heuer! 👴 The latest edition of the Monaco carries on the history and we’re proud to have it!

Picking watches for the Hot List each week is half science, half art, and all intuition! So when we crack open a shipment of watches and see something with lugs like this inside, we just know it’s gotta go on the list! Born in Washington state, Tom developed an interest in photography during college at University of San Diego. There, he got started in music journalism, interviewing artists and taking photos at concerts. A life-long tinkerer and collector, it wasn’t long before Tom became fascinated with fountain pens and watches.
Those interests collided in November 2020 when Tom started at Feldmar Watch Company where he lives out every watch geek’s dream: photographing and writing about timepieces. When he’s not tinkering with his watch collection, Tom can be found traveling, biting his nails while watching PNW sports teams, and taking flying lessons.
