In 1881, Kintaro Hattori opened a watch shop in Tokyo at just 22 years old. Over 130 years later, Seiko, Feldmar’s December brand of the month, is known for cutting-edge innovation and many achievements that have defined the art of telling time as it is known today. Let’s take a look at some of the collections that make up the Seiko family.

Grand Seiko
In 1960, the first Grand Seiko watch was created. Designed to be the “King of Watches,” each Grand Seiko piece is adorned with a lion on the back of the case. Other elements, such as a double width index at 12 o’clock, a flat dial and a highly polished bezel, give each Grand Seiko timepiece a distinct and powerful look. Practical in nature, Grand Seiko watches are durable and precise, meant to be passed down from generation to generation.

Seiko Astron
Seiko Astron is best known for revolutionizing the industry. The world’s first quartz watch, the Seiko Quartz Astron, was launched in 1969. To this day, many watchmakers use the system developed by Seiko when producing quartz watches.  Most recently, Seiko Astron came out with the world’s first GPS solar watch that runs solely on light-powered energy and adjusts to any time zone in the world with the touch of a button.
