Collection Spotlight: Bvlgari Aluminum
The year is 1998. A luxury brand widely known for precious metals and stones debuts a collection made of unorthodox materials – aluminum and rubber – in a casual, modern combination of black and white. This unconventional quartz sports watch takes the industry by storm, quickly becoming one of the most popular pieces in its genre.
An icon reinvented

More than 20 years later, our Brand of the Month has done it again with the Bvlgari Aluminum collection. These timepieces build on the foundation set by their predecessors but feature some important, modernized updates. Reshaped lugs and a new case size enhance the comfort of the watches, which are now powered by a mechanical self-winding movement with a power reserve of 42 hours. The star of the show, the aluminum alloy, is more resilient than the original model, offering greater durability. With a 40mm case, the unisex timepieces are sporty, stylish and cool, yet unmistakably Bvlgari. In fact, the brand name is prominently displayed on almost all components including the dial, bezel, rubber strap, case back and buckle.

The time-and-date models, in black and white, feature an oversized “12” and “6” and the date at 3 o’clock.

The chronograph features a panda dial, an oversized “12” and the date at 4:30.
A touch of red can be found on each model, enhancing readability and adding a touch of effortless style. All models are presented in an aluminum and rubber box.
Bvlgari states that the watch appeals to millennials, and while that certainly holds true, we think it would make the perfect piece for anyone with an appreciation for sporty designs that venture outside the box. And hey, those of you who had your eye on this watch in the 90s but never got it on your wrist, maybe your time is now!
