Meet Ben Scheidt, Sales Manager at Feldmar Watch Company!
When did you start working at Feldmar? 2018! Time flies when you’re having fun!
What is your favorite part of your job? Time spent with our team and our customers. We’re people people first and we all happen to love watches. The diversity of our team and the community that walks in our doors is so special.
What was your first watch? A Casio G-Shock I picked out at the Post Exchange with my dad when I was 8. I’ll never forget sharing that experience with him and that crazy too big for me watch stays with my collection.
What is your favorite watch in your collection and why? My TAG Heuer Carrera Caliber 16. The memories I have with it as my travel watch and the fact that after all the knocking around I’ve done with it, it keeps incredible time. It just feels so good to wear!
What is your dream watch? This is the toughest question to answer, so I’ll answer in two ways. One, it’s my next watch. That next moment that I can look around and say, awesome, I’m ready to treat myself. I have my heart set on the Breitling SuperOcean 44 Outerknown edition.
My other answer is, a beautiful German dress watch. Glashutte Original Senator Perpetual Calendar or an A. Lange and Sohne. The finishings and craftsmanship of these heritage brands from Germany are so special.
How long have you lived in the LA area? I moved here in 2016 from Honolulu, Hawaii.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t working? I’m an avid surfer, so on most days you’ll likely find me chasing waves. When the waves are flat I love traveling, guitars, playing with our dogs and golf.
If timepieces were never invented, what do you think you’d be doing right now? I would be working at Feldmar Sun-Dial and Abacus Company
