At Feldmar, we are not just proud purveyors of fine timepieces, but true lovers of watchmaking as well. It’s an honor to carry many of the world’s most prestigious luxury watch brands, and are therefore extremely happy to welcome Chopard to the Feldmar family!
The Chopard history begins in Switzerland in 1860, when Louis-Ulysse Chopard, the 24 year old son of a farmer, began crafting gorgeous, innovative, and accurate chronometers and pocket watches. The créme de la créme of society quickly took notice, and Chopard soon found his unique timepieces sought after in such preeminent locales as the court of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia.
Chopard traveled throughout Europe, and the company flourished. In 1915 Louis-Ulysse’s son Paul-Louis took over from his father, eventually moving the company to Geneva, the international center for watchmaking. In the 1960s the company passed into the capable hands of the Scheufele family, goldsmiths and watchmakers, where it remains to this day. All the while, Chopard continued a proud tradition of creating classic, elegant, refined, exquisite timepieces.
Chopard continues to push the envelope in both technological expertise and bravura design. Among their many innovations are floating diamonds, dazzling diamonds that swirl and dance freely across the watch face between two crystal sapphire glasses.
Not content to create some of the most iconic timepieces in horological history, Chopard is committed to responsible sourcing through what they call sustainable luxury. They consider the environmental and social impacts of their supply chain to be of paramount importance. They were the first watchmaker to use 100% Ethical Gold for the production of all their watches, and they also follow the principles of the Kimberley Process, with the goal to completely eliminate conflict diamonds from the market.

Born in Washington state, Tom developed an interest in photography during college at University of San Diego. There, he got started in music journalism, interviewing artists and taking photos at concerts. A life-long tinkerer and collector, it wasn’t long before Tom became fascinated with fountain pens and watches.
Those interests collided in November 2020 when Tom started at Feldmar Watch Company where he lives out every watch geek’s dream: photographing and writing about timepieces. When he’s not tinkering with his watch collection, Tom can be found traveling, biting his nails while watching PNW sports teams, and taking flying lessons.
