Hot List: December 5, 2025

After a long weekend of eating turkey and stuffing leftovers, Scott decided to shred some pow on the slopes. While mid quad cork 1800, he began to think to himself, “Man, that new Ken Burns doc is rad! Who was the best American general during the Revolution? I also wonder what will land on our Hot List this week?” We have the answers here…to the Hot List question (see below) AND the generals question (Nathaniel Greene).

TUDOR RANGER

TUDOR RANGER

These are not the Queen’s Rangers — that band of loyalists on the wrong side of history. This is what many in the watch world believe is the “true Ranger we’ve been waiting for.” They keep the rugged, utilitarian spirit of a classic field watch but introduce a new “Dune White” dial and a smaller 36mm stainless-steel case.

CASIO RING WATCH

CASIO RING WATCH

“Kiss the Ring,” exclaimed the mad King George III. No thanks! But the redcoat-in-chief himself would have probably loved to wear what we believe is this year’s most fun, most-novel “timepiece.” It indeed merges practicality with playfulness: built with resin using advanced molding technology, it’s both a unique fashion statement and a highly accurate timepiece.

BLANCPAIN FIFTY FATHOMS TECH

BLANCPAIN FIFTY FATHOMS TECH

General Washington could have used this when fatefully crossing the Delaware: a 45mm titanium dive watch — built from satin-brushed Grade 23 titanium with a unidirectional ceramic bezel, a helium-escape valve, and water resistance to 300 meters. The “Absolute Black” dial is designed to absorb up to 97 % of light.

HAMILTON VENTURA EDGE

HAMILTON VENTURA EDGE

This new take on the classic Ventura has a bold, futuristic angular stainless steel case (measuring around 51 × 47mm) and a semi-transparent, skeletonized dial that reveals its inner automatic movement. It’s powered by Hamilton’s H-10-S skeleton automatic calibre and is complete with an 80-hour power reserve.

ZENITH DEFY EXTREME

ZENITH DEFY EXTREME

Where would we be if not for defying authority? This Defy Extreme is a high-performance chronograph that houses the El Primero 9004 automatic calibre, allowing the chronograph to measure time to 1/100th of a second while still keeping accurate time via a separate escapement. Plus, that Lapis blue on the dial looks a lot like Ethan Allen’s overcoat.

BREMONT ALTITUDE PERPETUAL CALENDAR

This Bremont Altitude Perpetual Calendar combines the brand’s aviation-driven design language with a sophisticated complication that tracks date, day, month, and leap year with amazing precision. Its skeletonized dial balances technical depth and legibility, framed by Bremont’s signature hardened case for durability worthy of flight-ready instrumentation.

MIDO MULTIFORT CHRONOGRAPH

MIDO MULTIFORT CHRONOGRAPH

Behold the Mido Multifort (Ticonderoga) Chronograph, a robust Swiss-made chronograph with a 44mm stainless-steel case, automatic movement (Calibre 1320), and a tachymeter scale. It combines sporty functionality (stopwatch, date/day, seconds/minutes/hours) with durable, water-resistant construction (up to 100 meters). Now go steal some cannons!

MAURICE LACROIX AIKONIC

MAURICE LACROIX AIKONIC

Few know that Maurice Lacroix came over with Lafayette to fight on the side of Liberty during the Revolution. While this is not true, it is true that the Aikonic has an anthracite dial that features skeletonized apertures and three distinct retrograde indicators (GMT/home time, day, and date) plus a small-seconds display — all in a 43mm stainless-steel case with a black ceramic bezel and the automatic in-house calibre ML291.
