First Annual Sol Meller Memorial Blood Drive a Success
November 30, 2017 marked the second anniversary of Sol Meller’s passing. It also marked the start of a new tradition for Feldmar Watch Company. In memory of Sol, who during his life was an extremely generous blood and platelet donor for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the first annual Sol Meller Memorial Blood Drive took place at Feldmar Watch Company. Sol’s son Scott, President of Feldmar Watch Company, knew that the perfect way to carry on his father’s legacy with the community was to give back just like his father would have continued doing.
Known as “Uncle Sol” to generations of Feldmar patrons, Sol prided his life on providing excellent customer service to watch lovers in Los Angeles and helped transform Feldmar Watch Company into what it is today. It was now the community’s turn to give back in Sol’s memory and the things in life he held dear.
Needless to say, the community more than showed up in support of Sol. In total, 88 participants were screened and 69 units of blood collected (and for those who believe that there’s life beyond our time on earth, Sol was 69 years old when he passed). A true sign that Sol’s presence was felt! The event was a huge success running well past the scheduled time with donor graciously awaiting their turn to give. Thank you to Cedars-Sinai for your diligence and time. You are as good a friend to Sol as he was to you.
A huge thank you as well to Dawn and Kenny from Let’s Have a Cart Party who served all donors and attendees with delicious food and drinks, and our gracious watch brands partners. Each person who donated blood was entered to win one of numerous luxury prizes, gifted to us by Hermes, Breitling, OMEGA, Baume et Mercier, Tissot, Seiko, Movado, Gucci, Raymond Weil, Luminox, Hamilton, Bulova and G-SHOCK.

The great news is that you can already mark your calendars for next year, as the Second Annual Sol Meller Memorial Blood Drive will take place on November 30, 2018; the third anniversary of Sol Meller’s passing.
